Sugar – New Era
Sugar entered the Polish Holi hip-hop scene quite unexpectedly in 2019. This artist has captured my attention and that of listeners with his unique style of choosing his musical background, his unusual tone of voice and most importantly his solid skill in both sound and sound. produce and sing. Originally from Warsaw, his first outstanding music video was “Kim on jest” (“Who He Is”). Intrigued by that single track, I eagerly awaited his LP to fully appreciate and possibly appreciate Capital’s MC talent. We were not disappointed.
His first full-length releases, ‘Kim on jest’ and later ‘Nowe pieśni’ (‘New Songs’), are subtle, minimalist tracks built on a robust drum framework and thumping bass. It stands out in sound.
It is difficult to find a comparable discography among Polish artists in the Polish contemporary Christian music scene. Perhaps the only artist to stand out from the wider mainstream with a style similar to Kukier’s is Pharrell Williams. But it’s impossible to lump these artists together, both in terms of craftsmanship and lyrical interpretation. This rather bold comparison serves only those readers who expect a brief characterization of Sugar’s stage persona in writing and his unique discography.
Among new releases from the domestic Steeped label (a collection of gospel artists, musicians, sound engineers, and above all, worship leaders), Kukie’s album seems to shine the brightest. Remember, we recently received his latest LP on June 8th. new era (“New Times”)’s hit single “Benny Hinn” was used as the promotional track for the release.
After listening to the album for the first time, we knew the Warsaw native was making strong progress. On the record, you’ll find not only signature gospel grooves, but also quirky raps, melodies, and surprising skits. You should be familiar with Cukier’s work and his overall Steeped label accomplishments.

ANATOM – AUTONOMIA – Great Autonomy of Polish Gospel Rap
I have been waiting with anticipation for the release of Anatom’s second album. It’s worth highlighting, not only because of its similarity (although not identical, of course) to my own worldview, but also as a counterpoint to Tau’s marketing dominance in the Polish Christian rap scene. be. This work is the only work fully promoted by Bozon Records to date, and incidentally, this artist left the ranks of the aforementioned Bozon label and started his activities. TAU – REMEDIUM: About a great album by a certain Polish rapper rated by LECRAE
First and foremost, I would like to emphasize that Tau’s work has always sparked my interest as a rap listener and as a converted individual seeking content that builds my spiritual awareness. When Tau, then known as Medium, released their first album, Theory of parallel universes, in 2011 through Asphalt Records, this work did not catch my attention. I quickly forgot about promotional posts for Medium’s debut or singles filled with boring pseudo-philosophy and metaphysics in my opinion. In retrospect, my indifference was also influenced by the fact that the musings expressed in the single, the choice of words in the lyrics and their expression did not align with my aesthetic tastes or religious beliefs.
but, therapy (Remedy) – Tau’s artistic debut – has caused quite a stir among my acquaintances from the so-called Christian rap underground scene, and has also sparked ideological discussions on social media and thematic portals.
The album delves into territory many perceive as very personal and undeserving or unfit for discussion in the world of phonological fireworks, on the first listen, so objective judgement. can escape.
