BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (BRPROUD) – Music fans were able to see Travis Tritt, Scotty McCreery and more during the Cajun Country Jam’s Memorial Day festival in Denham Springs. On Saturday, May 27, they also witnessed the induction of country music legends into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. Randy Travis joins a group of notable musicians inducted into the State Music Hall of Fame.
According to a news release, Travis is currently inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame along with Louis Armstrong, Elvis Presley, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Layne Hardy and many others. Mike Shepherd, president and executive director of the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame, invited Travis to the hall at the festival ceremony.
“Over the years, Randy Travis has made many stops along the way in Louisiana and gained new fans,” Shepard said.

The 64-year-old musician is from North Carolina. According to IMDb, Travis has been nominated for various awards 46 times and won 34 times. Country His music legend has also graced the screen in movies like The National His Treasure: Book of Secrets and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016.
