The University of Pittsburgh and 1Hood Media teamed up to host “This Thing We Call Hip-Hop,” an event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the emergence of Juneteenth and the popular music genre.
Friday’s event included music, trivia, and a panel discussion with Pittsburgh artists such as Fed the God and Hurdoo.
Five event facilitators chatted with us on video to discuss Juneteenth and the intersection of history, culture and music.
