“I was born in Guatemala, a small country from Central America. Let me tell you, musically adapting there was a grind, ’cause English wasn’t the go-to language. But I feel like I lucked out being there ’cause it gave me this opportunity to teach folks chasing that artist dream, no matter the language or genre. Fast forward, and now I’m based in Miami, Florida, making things happen. Life’s a trip.”
Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got into music?
All kicked off when I was like 10 or 11. Got this itch to play guitar, so guess what? YouTube became my teacher. Taught myself the ropes and all that. But as time went on, I got this urge to sing and dive into the whole music scene. I figured being an artist was my calling, especially ’cause people were vibing with my stuff even at that young age. The real game-changer, though, was hitting up my first live concert – Post Malone’s gig. That night just sealed the deal for me. I was like, “Yep, this is what I wanna do.”
What is your creative process like when writing and recording new music?
Every artist’s got their own funky process when it comes to laying down tracks or penning lyrics, and I’m no exception. My go-to is pulling inspiration from real-life experiences and what’s going on around me. When I’m cooking up a beat, it’s all about the vibe I’m feeling at the moment. The best tunes just kinda flow out naturally. When you try to force it, that’s when things get tricky, and songs turn into a puzzle I can’t solve. Gotta let it happen organically, that’s the secret sauce.
Who are your biggest musical influences and how have they shaped your sound?
Back in the day, I was all about that rock life, you know? Metallica, Nirvana, that was my jam as a kid. But then, as I got older, my pops introduced me to the rap game – Kanye, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, the whole crew. It hit me, and I felt like I found my vibe, especially after catching a Post Malone concert. That guy’s something else. Along the ride, I’ve been all about embracing new sounds, like Carti, Yeat, Nardo, and whatever else comes my way. Always gotta keep it fresh.
Can you walk us through the making of your latest single?
My latest single coming on October 13th titled “Fast & Fëndi” was a truly crazy journey. I was kinda feeling down about my music game but then, I met Ivy, this wicked talented producer. He shot me some beats, and I’m like, “Whoa, these shit fire!” Next thing you know, I’m doing my own thing with it, and it just kinda happened. I didn’t even plan on dropping the track until I threw a snippet on my IG story. Fans went nuts for it, especially my dude Abon. He’s the one who was like, “Bro, send that over right now – it’s gonna blow up!” We were all pumped, and I didn’t even realize the song had that magic until then. Crazy, right?
How do you approach live performances and connecting with your audience?
Staying in touch with the fans is my vibe too. I’m all about hitting up those DMs, making sure to respond to every message. It’s crucial to me that they feel special. I don’t want to be that artist who’s all distant and doesn’t show love to the people supporting the hustle. Nah, that’s not my style. I’m doing this for them, and I want them to know it. It’s about spreading the love and making sure they get why I’m in the game. It’s all for the fans, always.
What has been the most memorable moment of your music career so far?
When “I GOT” dropped, it flipped my whole script. That track was a game-changer—it threw me on the radar and brought in my first wave of fans. Next thing I knew, I was in the studio with heavy-hitter producers and collabing with other dope singers. It’s wild how one song can shift your whole career. “I GOT” was the spark that lit up everything, and I’ve been riding that wave ever since. Crazy how a good song can make a change.
Can you discuss any challenges or obstacles you’ve faced in the industry and how you overcame them?
It was frustrating for me cause as an artist you wanna blow pretty quick, more in this fast-paced world, everyone’s chasing instant success. But I’ve learned it’s all about enjoying the process, not just the destination. That’s the true gold. I also figured out that the big ones, they only roll with the big ones. So, you gotta grind hard to get on that level. When you’re a nobody, it’s tough getting noticed, but that’s where the hustle comes in. Keep pushing, keep grinding, and eventually, you’ll be on the radar. It’s about earning your stripes in this game.
How do you stay motivated and inspired as an artist?
My music, the process of creating it, and all my material, that’s the fuel that keeps the fire burning. It’s that deep-down belief in the potential of what you’re putting out there that keeps you on that grind. Knowing that what you’re doing can make a real impact, that’s the motivation right there.
Do you have any advice for aspiring musicians trying to break into the industry?
Keep making music, throw in some solid marketing, and stay motivated. Opportunities are like a revolving door, and they swing open for everyone at some point. The key is knowing how to seize them when they come your way. It’s all about staying hungry, and being on the lookout for the right moment. With the right mindset and grind, success isn’t a matter of “if” but “when.” It’s a game of patience, persistence. Keep pushing, and you’ll get there.
What are your thoughts on the current state of the music industry and where do you see it headed in the future?
The game has shifted big time. It’s all about that quick sell and what’s trending at the moment. The industry now is like a speed race, where what’s hot right now might be old news tomorrow. It’s a challenge, but it’s also an opportunity if you can ride the wave. Gotta stay sharp and roll with the changes.
How do you balance staying true to your artistic vision while also appealing to a wider audience?
Staying true to myself, staying humble, and holding onto my own vision—that’s the solid foundation. I just want to keep being me, because that’s the real magic that sets me apart in this ever-evolving game. I gotta stay grounded, stay genuine.
Can you tell us about any upcoming projects or collaborations you have in the works?
Can’t say much, but I’m constantly cooking up new tracks. I’ve got enough
