Usher is back, baby.
The R&B icon heats up with the new song “GLU” for the first time in three years. Almost two decades after dominating the charts with “Yeah,” he reunited with Lil Jon and his Sean Garrett on a sensual track and was teased in an equally steamy video starring Lori Harvey.
“I just love that glu/It slides you down every time we start touching/It gets all on you, all on me from fu**in’/ Then that glu done got you” Usher sings in falsetto.
“‘GLU’ is as authentic as it gets,” Sean Garrett told Rap-Up. “From the feel of the record, there’s a lot of soul in this song. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard a record this seductive and sexy, and his performance on this vocal is top notch.”
Expect more music from Usher as he gears up for his first album since 2016. “We are going to follow this record and create some monsters for the club and the world!”
“GLU” marks Usher’s first release since partnering with Gamma, a new company founded by former Apple Music exec Larry Jackson. In September, he celebrated the 25th anniversary of his second album my way By releasing an extended edition containing three new tracks.
You can see Usher live in Las Vegas during his “My Way” residency, which runs through July. He’s also set to headline his Lovers & Friends Festival this May.
