Humboldt, Tennessee — The Stegall Center plans to celebrate Juneteenth with a major festival.
This year’s African American Heritage & Music Festival will be held in Viking Park, giving attendees the chance to check out more than 40 vendors in Memphis, Nashville, Jackson and Gibson counties.
There will be ice cream, BBQ, desserts, vegan options, contests, community talks, music, art and more.
Live events include:
- June 17, 11:00 a.m. — Opening Ceremony, followed by Jackson’s Griot Poet Speech
- June 17, 2pm — Cornhole Tournament Hosted by Christine Warrington
- June 17th, 6pm — Soul Shakers Society Band
“This year’s event will be the largest in its seven-year history,” said Valerie Porter, creator and coordinator of the African American Heritage & Music Festival. “Bring your chair, family and friends and spend the day. AAHMF is for everyone!”
The African American Heritage & Music Festival will take place Saturday, June 17th from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm and Sunday, June 18th from 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
