Legendary guitarist Billy Duffy joins Ian Key for an indie brunch on Louder Than War Radio this Saturday, June 17th. Billy will pick a selection of tracks for the show and talk about his formative years in Manchester, football and, of course, The Cult.

Jim Bob; Billy Bragg and Rick Buckler, and up-and-coming artists such as Meryl Streak. Caesar Spencer and country artist Amy Jo.

“I had a ‘wish list’ of musicians and artists I wanted to see on the show and Billy was on it from the start. It’s in the punk scene and I’ve always wanted to explore and learn about it,” Ian said, adding, “I had just done a string of pieces, so his arrival was perfectly timed.” added. “Punk Special” commemorating the release of “Keeping Control – Independent Music From Manchester 1977-1981 Box Set”.

The Cult will release their 11th album and seventh UK Top 20 album, Under the Midnight Sun, in 2022. Billy needs no introduction to readers/subscribers of Louder Than War, as he has cemented his place at rock’s top table with the band’s frontman Ian Astbury. Formed in Bradford, The Cult burst into the mainstream in the mid-1980s with such legendary hits as Rain, Fire Woman, Love Removal Machine, Lil Devil and She Sells Sanctuary. He has many platinum-selling albums, including Love (1985), Electric (1987), Sonic Temple (1985), and Ceremony (1991).
