BLACKPINK’s Jennie is “doing her best to recover” after being forced to leave the stage mid-song due to “worsening symptoms” during her Melbourne concert.
The 27-year-old singer had to leave the show early after performing with the group Down Under on Sunday (June 23-11) and did not return for the rest of the show.
YG Entertainment, a record company and talent agency, issued a statement on the Weverse fan platform, saying, “Jenny was unable to complete the stage due to deteriorating health.”
“We sincerely apologize to the fans who supported BLACKPINK and to everyone who participated in the event. We ask for your understanding in this situation.”
“Jenny has expressed a strong determination to continue performing until the end. However, following the advice of the on-site doctor, we immediately took steps to ensure that she was well rested and stable. .
“Jenny expressed her regret that she could not be with her fans until the end and promised to recover as soon as possible.”
A fan-filmed performance video shows Jennie walking off the stage while the band, also consisting of Rose, Lisa, and Jisoo, sings “Lovesick Girls.”
Jenny has since apologized to her fans and said she is doing everything in her power to recover from a mysterious health issue.
In a letter to fans, she wrote on her Instagram story:
“We are doing everything we can to recover. [at the moment]. Your understanding and support are very important to me.
“Thank you to everyone who came out to the Melbourne show. I love you all.”
BLACKPINK continues their ‘Born Pink’ world tour in Sydney, with two sold-out shows at Qudos Bank Arena on Friday (June 23-16) and Saturday (June 23-17), followed by Auckland, New Zealand. I am planning to go to , later this month.
