The Brevard Music Center (BMC) and Blue Ridge Public Radio (BPR) have partnered on a live broadcast of “Opening Night: Carmina Burana,” which will air from the Whittington Pfaor Auditorium on the BMC campus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23.
Hosted by BPR’s Anastasia Marie, BPR Classic will bring you insider interviews and song selections starting at 7:00 PM and the concert starting around 7:30 PM. Find your closest BPR Classic frequency here. Or stream your performance bpr.org.
BMC’s popular maestra, Joan Falletta, will serve as Principal Guest Conductor with the BMC Orchestra and the Greenville Chorale to perform Carl Orff’s epic cantatas.
The performance will kick off BMC’s core symphonic program for the 2023 Summer Festival season. Following last year’s first live broadcast After more than 10 years since campus.
BPR and BMC will also partner for an additional live broadcast of “Season Finale: Verdi Requiem” performance by the BMC Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Artistic Director Keith Lockhart, on Sunday, August 6, at 3:00 pm.
