Born into a poor family, he nurtured dreams of working in media straight out of high school at the age of 17. Kolb interned at a Philadelphia radio station under hip-hop pioneer Lady B, and took over the station when she retired just five years later. Unbeknownst to him at the time, this was the beginning of an explosive new genre. He was able to meet many hip-hop legends early in his career, including our very own Da Brat.
