Flavor Flav recently visited Harvard and left his mark in many ways. The 64-year-old hip-hop legend donated his one of his iconic watch chains to a prestigious university.
The Public Enemy rapper met with some of the Ivy Riegers on Tuesday (April 4) and led them to a table reading of Emily Dickinson’s poem “A Clock Stopped.” Unsurprisingly, Flav had the clock on his mind and tied the content of the verse to some of the rap lyrics.

Flavor Flav seemed to be in the middle of academia, but they went one step further and donated a clock chain to Harvard professors Henry Louis Gates and Tommy Shelby as a donation to the university’s Hip Hop Archive & Research Institute. handed over. Lupe Fiasco, Dee-1, DJ Stretch Armstrong and others participated. Criminal justice reformer and music industry executive Jason Fromme, who was also in attendance, shared his excitement about the special moment on Instagram.
“One of my basic philosophies is that whenever I get the chance to spend time with a genius, a revolutionary, or both, I embrace it!” he wrote. “Today I ticked both of these boxes and was thrilled to discuss music and justice with @lupefiasco and @flavorflavofficial while making the rounds at MIT and Harvard.”
This historic moment continues the chain of positivity that happened in Flavor Flav’s life. In October 2022, he celebrated his two-year sobriety on social media. “Today is October 19th.” flavor of love The actor said on Instagram. “And what do you think? I’m two years old and I haven’t smoked. Two years sober. And you know what? And I don’t care what anyone says.
