Full details, entertainment line-up announced for Freedom Fest 2023

FORT NOVOSEL, Alabama (WTVY) – On Friday, Fort Novosell unveiled details and entertainment line-up for FreedomFest 2023, so we’re ready to kick off one of the wireglass area’s biggest celebrations.

This year’s festival will take place on Friday, June 30 from 4pm to 9pm at Festival Fields in Fort Novosell, and will be held again as part of the American Independence Celebrations, following last year’s huge success. We aim to outperform the previous event. Over 12,000 patrons enjoy food, entertainment and fireworks on the post.

Headlining this year’s entertainment line-up is Tag Team, the hip-hop/pop rap duo known for their 90’s mega-hit “Whoomp!” (There it is)”. The opening act was Sleepy Head, followed by The Rock Mob playing the best and biggest hits of the 70’s and 80’s, while Hunter Clark also played a Southern rock sound. Appearing on stage and then leading the tag team to close the night to a fireworks display.

At the festival, fun family activities and stalls include a bounce house, an obstacle course, free ice cream, military vehicle displays, and several craft stalls. Multiple stalls and food trucks will also be set up on site, offering a variety of festival and traditional holiday food and snack options.

There will be live entertainment until the festival kicks off at 4:00 PM, with a fireworks display starting at 9:00 PM.

Freedom Fest 2023 is open to the general public and accredited patrons. A patron wishing to attend the event must obtain his Visitor Pass by June 30th for access. Click here for gate access, hours of operation, procedures and FAQs.

Please note that a current driver’s license must have a REAL ID compliant ID/”Gold Star” if you wish to obtain or qualify for a pass. If you do not have a ‘Gold Star’ driver’s license, additional identification may be required.
