The Blues struggled at the end of the 2021/22 season, with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leaving at the end of their contracts and Tuchel starting pre-season where the club was just 12 months ago. Tuchel is favored by the market as the deals of Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Kukurella were completed before the Premier League season and young stars such as Kearny Chuckwémeka and Wesley Fofana. It’s hard to argue not. Nonetheless, the final hours of the window offered more drama as players were signed, sold, or loaned out.
