How ‘Bigg Boss 16’ winner MC Stan connected with rap music


Mumbai, March 18 (IAS): Popular rapper MC Stan recalled his journey in the music industry and how he made a name for himself in showbiz. Originally from Pune, Maharashtra, he first fell in love with music after hearing Kawari perform in his home and released his first single ‘Wata’ in 2018.

He said: It felt so cool to somehow connect with a culture where I heard people speaking English words pretty fast. “

Known for his unique dressing and hairstyle, the ‘Bigg Boss 16’ winner went on to elaborate more on his relationship with rap, connecting rap music to the Hindi language and wanting to become popular in India.

“Rap was born out of black people’s struggle to get out of poverty, so I could really relate to it.

MC Stan appeared on “The Kapil Sharma Show” alongside well-known internet personalities Bhuvan Bam, Harsh Gujaral and Dolly Singh. During the show, MC Stan talked about one of his favorite songs “Khuja Mat” and what inspired him to create this song.

“There was no such inspiration behind the song. There was a fight going on between my friend and I, so in the rap. He disrespected each other like competition…”
