Universal Music Group’s Mercury Studios has released a documentary titled “Fanny: The Other Mendelssohn” featuring Isata Kanneh-Mason.
Directed by BAFTA Award-winning filmmaker Sheila Heyman, the composer’s three granddaughters, Decca won the 2021 Leonard Bernstein Award and was named Best Classical Artist at the 2021 Global Awards The documentary, starring artist Kanne Mason, interprets Fanny’s work. Mendelssohn. The work focuses on Mendelssohn’s “Easter Her Sonata”, initially thought to be Felix’s composition, but in 2010 it was revealed to be her own composition.

The film was shot in New York, Berlin, London, Oxford and Buckingham Palace. Alice Webb, Marc Robinson, Steve Condie, Annabel Hobley and Maureen Murray of Mercury Studios serve as Executive Producers, with Hayman as Producer and Evie Franks as Editor.
