On Friday (June 16th) Killer Mike released a new album. Michael, which includes a record featuring one of hip-hop’s most revered artists, Andre 3000. OutKast’s reclusive half sets the mood for the first single, “Scientist & Engineers.” The song also features Future, also from Atlanta, and boasts a James Blake production. While promoting a new project, Mike stopped by the “Breakfast Club” and remembered how he came up with a verse from three stacks there. Surprisingly, the collaboration came about just because Mike asked Dre for his opinion. “I say, ‘Stax, I have something to ask you,’ because he changed my life. He and Big Boy gave me the opportunity to change my life.” So I want them to be proud of me. Their opinion matters no matter what I do,” he explained to DJ Envy and Charlamagne tha God on Friday.
Mike continued, “I’m playing for him, and I just want his opinion… He said, ‘Kill it, tough guy.'” , I felt warm, hey hey. He said, “Hey, can I call you again tomorrow and bring you something?”…He brought two records. There were songs he sang on, but it was a beautiful record. He wants to use it for something, so he ends up taking it back. And he sang the verse “Scientists & Engineers,” which as a rapper is about looking for other rappers to get you excited about rap. It’s competitive… I was just like, ‘Okay, this is it. ”
Later, the “Trigger Warning” host revealed that it was Dre’s idea to put Future on the truck. “It becomes and flowers and opens. There is no id to do that part. Now you have to follow this and shine in a way that doesn’t imitate it… so I sat on it for a few months, just riding it and listening,” said Mike. “And then one day I experienced seven things [or] There were 8 different flows, and then one day the flow came… the first third was Dre and James Blake, and the next flow produced by No ID on Future — Future on No ID Beat — and DJ Paul is back and it goes under me. At this point, it’s just porn. It’s just a wet dream of your hip-hop fantasy. ”
