Here, reporter Jenny Beek interviews Barry Steele, the man behind the legendary American singer’s glasses. Barry Steele promises the perfect show for his fans and his family alike.
The production is a family production by wife Lynne Steele, director and promoter, and her sons, who work in tour management, marketing, technology and digital aspects of the show.
Barry said, “It’s a great nostalgia-filled show with big screens on stage that show the information from start to finish.

“This is a busy show featuring music from Roy Orbison’s early career to the Traveling Wilburys, which consisted of George Harrison, Roy, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty.
“We’re trying to uncover as many facts as possible about who worked with Roy, but it’s an interesting story.
“Our band members are all seasoned musicians and the first part of the show is Roy’s story and the second part focuses on the Traveling Wilburys.
Lynn said, “It’s important to do it right and we made the decision to produce the show, bring Buddy Holly back on the show and bring this music to new audiences.
“A lot of young people came and people started asking more and more for the Traveling Wilburys.”
The couple hails from Birmingham and Barry introduced Roy Orbison’s accent into the production.
Barry said: “I’m Brummie, ex-Royal Air Force, former truck driver.
“As a performer, I never imagined myself performing on stage as an artist.
“My wife and kids encouraged me to sing at a holiday park, and when I did, people applauded and said I sounded like Roy Orbison.

“That’s when the problems started and when I put the glasses on, I felt more confident.
“We sang his beautiful music, tried to make it sound like him, and gradually brought in the accent, and the reaction the show got from people was amazing.”
Lynn said: “We tour all year round and can do over 120 shows.
“We just got back from Holland, Sweden and Ireland and it’s been amazing.
“Since the pandemic hit and viewers have regained confidence in pre-booking shows like ours, this is an incredible achievement.
“Barry’s stage presence and his amazing crew, all of whom play the music incredibly well, make this a top-class production.
“This is no ordinary tribute program.”
“As long as our fans keep coming to hear our music, we’re going to keep going,” Barry said.
“The whole show has been revamped.
