LOS ANGELES (AP) – Maria Sherman has been appointed music writer for The Associated Press, a key role for the press cooperative responsible for delivering news on a globally significant beat.

Sherman, who started on Monday, will head music coverage for The Associated Press’ entertainment and lifestyle division, which has video, photo and text journalists on three continents.
