During the month of March, music educators and music students observe Music In Our Schools Month to celebrate music education in the school community. This year’s theme is “Music Is All of Us”.
The National Association for Music Education recognizes March as its 38th annual event.

During March, state music education associations affiliated with the National Association for Music Education participated in advocacy activities that included meetings with state and local elected officials to discuss why music education is funded and supported. Charleston broadened his knowledge by attending a workshop session on music instruction at all levels at the 77th Annual West Virginia Music Educators Association Incumbent Conference. The conference also provides students with unique performance opportunities through exciting concerts conducted by nationally renowned conductors. This concert is held to spotlight some of the state’s premier performing organizations, including top honors finalists from regional solo and ensemble festivals.
