After much anticipation, BET has announced the first batch of performers for the 2023 BET Awards.
Nominees Coco Jones, Glorilla, Doechy and Lil Uzi Vert have all been named to grace the stage, but more artists are expected to be announced.
As part of Culture’s Biggest Night, a non-stop hip-hop party celebrates the genre’s 50th anniversary. 69 Boys, Big Daddy Kane, Chief Keef, DJ Ankh, E-40, Fast Life Jungstad & Easton (FLY), Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Kid and Play, MC Light, Master P, Remima, Soulja Boy, The Sugarhill Gang, Trick Daddy, Trina, Tyga, Uncle Luke, Warren G, Ying Yang Twins and Yo-Yo all attend BET’s Hip Hop 50th Anniversary event.
“We have an incredible line-up of performers who take us on a musical journey that covers hip-hop across all ages, styles and geographies. From music to dance to fashion, hip-hop We’re digging into every corner to celebrate 50 years of , and its diversity, evolution and global impact,” said Connie Orlando, BET EVP, Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy, in a statement. Stated. . “This wall-to-wall party will reverberate with the incredible energy and passion these artists bring to the stage and culture. Get ready for an unforgettable night full of surprises.”
This year, Drake tops the nominee list with a total of seven nominations, but rising star Glorilla trails him with six of his own. 21 Savage and Lizzo lined up with five nods each. Beyoncé, Burna Boy, Ice Spice, Chris Brown and SZA are all tied for four nominations.
The 2023 BET Awards will be broadcast live on BET on Sunday 25th June 2023 at 8pm ET/PT.
