In the vibrant tapestry of contemporary music, few artists shine as brightly as Micki Smiles. Hailing from Lexington, Kentucky, Micki is a dynamic Creole-country recording artist, composer, and musician with roots that span Trinidad, Kentucky, and the US Virgin Islands. Born on the picturesque island of Saint Thomas, Micki’s musical journey began at the tender age of four, captivating an audience of 2,000 at a Pennsylvania music conference—a performance that earned a well-deserved standing ovation.

By six, Micki was mastering the piano; by eight, the guitar; and by ten, both drums and bass guitar. This self-taught prodigy, a direct descendant of the legendary James Brown, was seemingly destined to set the stage ablaze with a unique and soulful sound. At ten, Micki delved into songwriting, and by fifteen, recorded the first studio single, “Breathless,” in the West Indies. A dozen years later, in 2015, Micki had the honor of opening for the iconic Lauryn Hill at the Tobago Jazz Festival.

Fast-forward to 2023, Micki unveiled the debut six-track EP, “Inclusion,” marking a significant milestone in an already impressive career. The momentum continued into 2024, collaborating with Grammy Award-winning producer The Real BarNone at iM1 Studios, alongside industry giants Universal Music Group and Sony BMG advisors. This powerhouse team assisted Micki in crafting the first industry-standard Billboard single, setting the stage for an eagerly anticipated release in Spring 2025.

Fans have even more to look forward to, as Micki and the band embark on a 13-city East Coast tour in 2025. Collaborations with several industry artists are also in the pipeline, building anticipation for the Billboard rollout. The upcoming radio single and music video, “Hail Storm,” is poised to make waves, leading up to the sophomore album, “The Wave,” slated for a Fall 2025 release.
