Mill Ballet School Celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop with Reggie Oliver



(New Hope, Pennsylvania) — Mill Ballet School New Hope, Pennsylvania, is hosting a hip-hop workshop this month taught by new faculty, stage and film star Reggie Oliver. Reggie O. is a dancer, choreographer and teacher from Pennsylvania who has worked in many fields of entertainment and performance, his most recent performance being the Super Bowl halftime show. Led by Reggie O., the Hip Hop Workshop reflects Mill Ballet’s ongoing mission to bring diverse styles, experiences, and quality teachers to the school’s dance community, with a diverse array of instructors and Enhancing student education through interaction.

Melissa and Mark Roxy chose Reggie O to lead this workshop after seeing his work and following his social media career. His style is informative and enjoyable for those interested in the hip-hop genre. Director Mark Roxy started his own dance career on the streets of Brooklyn and is always on the lookout for new high-level artists to introduce to students at Mill Ballet School. For Melissa Roxy, there is value in increasing the opportunities to educate her students. She opens their minds beyond classical ballet, exposing them to diversity and introducing them to new styles of dance.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, with concerts, dance parties, performances and other celebrations taking place all over the country throughout the year. Mill Her Ballet School believes in the power of dance education and encourages students to experience different styles of dance to broaden their skills. Hip-hop is a cultural force that has influenced many art forms internationally, and in this workshop Reggie O. will teach you the basics of rhythm and hip-hop, as well as choreographic masterpieces.
