Maui singer-songwriter Anthony Pfluuk will host a pop-up performance on Fridays from 5-6pm at Kipuka Square next to the Iao Theater.
According to event organizer Small Town Big Art, Pfluuk will perform a series of original music inspired by the history, culture and sense of place of Kahoolawe and Wailuku. Participants should bring lawn chairs.
On June 22nd, Small Town Big Art will also have an exhibition. “Night with Wood Wave” An artist talk story event will be held at the Wailuku Public Library from 5:15-6:15pm.
Artists Matthew Kawika Ortiz and Roxanne Ortiz are the husband-and-wife duo that make up Wood Wave. According to the news release, they were born and raised in Hawaii and use Hawaiian values and concepts to present them in a contemporary visual context.
