Nasty Ray was born and raised in Beijing. He encountered hip-hop in 1998 and began collecting records from the Forbidden City when he was listening to music on CD. In 2004, he began rapping and participating in freestyle battles. He won 13 major competitions in six years, the winner of the Iron Mike National Finals in 2009, and the single “Unity Lake” in 2011, which won 4 weeks on 88.7 FM radio's The Park, was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the program singles, and became the most representative song. In 2012, he founded Natural Flavor. It is a monthly party that is the earliest to promote party cultural activities, share and popularize music. It has been held for more than 10 years, making it the oldest hip-hop party in China and has a strong influence throughout the country. In 2018, Zulu Nation was invited to join the world's first hip-hop organization, founded in New York in 1973, and released the country's first 12-inch vinyl single in 2019. “Survival of the Fittest” was released by the famous Disk Union store in Japan and premiered in Chinese on Shade 45, one of the top three hip-hop radio stations in the U.S. With 20 years of rap gigging experience, Nasty Ray has performed with many American hip-hop legends, including Ghostface Killah of Wu-Tang Clan, Das EFX, Madlib, Grandmaster Flash, Da Great Deity Dah, Akil & DJ Nu-Mark of Jurassic 5, Diamond D of DITC, and is widely recognized.
