Netflix has announced the production of “Rhythm + Flow Italy” following the launch of its hip-hop music competition in the US and France.
Produced in Italy by Fremantle, this groundbreaking talent show to follow and nurture aspiring rappers seeks local artists who have made their mark on the Italian rap scene: Italian rappers Fabri Fibra, Giolier and Rose.・Feature villains.

‘Rhythm + Flow Italy’ is a testament to how Italian hip-hop producers and artists are pushing the boundaries of the genre, making Italy one of Europe’s biggest hip-hop markets, and will be released on Netflix in 2024. It will be distributed as a series of 8 episodes. .
The boom in Italian hip-hop culture can be traced back to its emergence in the early 90s as a form of youth protest against Silvio Berlusconi’s government. Recently, Neapolitan rap has gained international fame as an integral part of the soundtrack to Italy’s biggest TV export, the organized crime television series Gomorrah.
The show’s hosts will search for the next generation of Italian hip-hop talent, starting in Rome, Naples and Milan, considered the most representative cities of Italian rap. The winner of “Rhythm + Flow Her Italy” will receive her €100,000 ($106,000).
During the competition, young Italian rappers will prove themselves in freestyle skills, rap battles and original song productions. A statement from Netflix said that throughout the show, the three judges will also be joined by other prominent representatives of the Italian rap scene “to help determine the outcome of the competition.”
Rhythm + Flow Italia is written by Dino Clemente, Matteo Renardon, Paola Papa, Antonio Vicaretti and Chiara Guerra and directed by Alessio Muzi.
