As part of yesterday’s action in Operation Trident, the Durham police response to crime in the neighborhood, officers were out and about to give the suspect an unexpected and unwanted wake-up call.

Today’s results bring the number of people arrested during the operation to over 50 in less than three months, with criminal suspects warned they will be arrested if they are on the list.

Up to 30 officers visited several addresses in the unit’s areas, including Peterlee, Darlington and Stanley, to find identified targets.

As with previous actions, warrants were obtained on some properties, but on others, officers simply knocked on the door.

A cannabis farm with an estimated value of around £2 million was discovered at the Easington Colliery during the operation and was subsequently dismantled and removed.

Weapons, drugs and large sums of cash were also seized at other addresses.
