Music was turned off at all stages of Parklife as Heaton Park prepared for a thunderstorm.
Dark clouds blanketed the sky before a thunderstorm warning was issued this afternoon, and fans on stage at The Valley were told to “stay 3 meters away” from the large structure.
In a video shot from the stage area, a staff member instructs attendees to: “Please stay 3 meters away from metal structures. We will resume the show as soon as possible. Thank you.”

Attendees also reported that some entrance gates to the festival were closed and people were advised to remain on the grassy areas of the park.
“For the safety of our guests and staff, we are canceling the show entirely. We expect the show to last 40 minutes until the storm passes. Thank you for your patience,” Parklife tweeted.
“Due to the storm, there may be a power outage on stage. During this time, announcements may not be made. Please do not use mobile phones or hang flags, metal objects or selfie sticks.”
Organizers have confirmed to MEN that admission has been temporarily suspended. “Due to the storm, the festival is suspending entry gates,” a spokesperson said.
