A US jury has acquitted rapper Hurricane Chris, known for his hit single “A Bay Bay,” in the death of a man who was shot multiple times at a gas station in 2020.

A panel in Louisiana has ruled that a 34-year-old artist whose real name is Christopher Dooley is not guilty of second-degree murder charges related to the murder of 32-year-old Danzelia Faris Jr. and illegal possession of stolen property, news outlets said. reported.

A Caddo parish grand jury indicted Dooley in October 2020 in connection with the murder of Mr. Faris, who was shot several times at a Texaco gas station in Shreveport on June 19, 2020.

He was confirmed dead at the hospital.

Dooley was on trial for more than a week before a verdict in state district court.

The prosecutor called several witnesses, and the defense presented two, including Dooley.

“I want to thank God, the attorneys at Washington & Wells, and my family for supporting me when my life was at stake,” Dooley told The Shade Room.

“They wanted to give me life if I was found guilty. Now I can hold my son and think about raising him to be a man. It’s drained me and has taken a huge toll on my health.God I give you all the glory.I have my life back and words can’t describe how I feel.My Thank you to everyone who wished me happiness.”

The godson of former Democratic Rep. Barbara Norton, the Shreveport native is best known for his 2007 album 51/50 Ratchet. This album contains his hit single A Bay Bay.
