Rap star Ice-T-21 is no stranger to the world of knife crime, having been part of a gang. Now that he’s turned his life around, he’s dedicated a special track to the parents who lost their children to the knife crime.
Moved by these parents and their plight in trying to stop knife crime, Ice-T-21 wrote “Broken World” specifically for them, some of which are featured in a special video. It’s a schedule.
“It’s important to work together as a team,” says the rapper. “Having been part of a gang and experienced the other side. I want to stress to all young people that it’s never too late to change.”
Ice-T-21 is not only a well-known rapper with a huge following, but a true community champion who is ready to stand up and help make a difference in our community.
“These mothers are forgotten by most, but no one else can tell their story. They suffer the consequences of knife crime every day.
“It’s important that we learn from each other. I can learn from them and I can share with them my experience of being in the gang.”
The rapper emphasizes how important it is to only rap about what you have actually experienced.
“I just rap about what I know, what I’ve been through, what I’ve been through. I don’t rap about what I haven’t been through. It’s really important to be able to identify with what you’re rapping.”
He also stresses how important it is that we work together as a community to stop the knife crime scare.
“We have to work on this as a community. It’s important that we all come together and stop these horrors happening in our streets every day.”
Ice-T-21 attends a special Knife Crime Conference, where they meet relatives and anti-knife activists for the chance to work together to confront this nightmare.
