Rod Stewart plans to ‘leave rock ‘n’ roll’ behind – Music News

Rod Stewart has announced plans to switch genres and renew his career.

In a recent interview with BBC Breakfast, the Maggie May crooner revealed that she plans to “leave all that rock ‘n’ roll” behind after her big tour in 2023.

“I’m not retiring, but I want to move on,” the 78-year-old singer told the BBC. “I just made a swing album with Jules Holland and it’s coming out next year, so I’d like to go in that direction. But I’d like to leave all the rock’n’roll stuff behind. For a while, maybe. .”

When host Charlie State asked if this meant he was done playing songs like “Hot Legs,” the singer replied, “Sooner or later, everything has to end.” .

Rod added, “I’m really looking forward to doing something else,” adding that Jules’ future work with the band is “kind of rock and roll. Not sexy?” he added.

Sailing Singer will embark on the UK leg of a global tour that begins in Plymouth on June 24th and concludes in Edinburgh on July 7th.
