All this year, hip-hop’s 50th anniversary has been celebrated by fans and artists alike, but one of the biggest tributes is still going on.
On August 11th, the culture’s actual birthday, Yankee Stadium hosts a massive concert with Hip Hop 50 Live. The event is an all-day event where Mass He appeals and Live Nation showcases talent to rival the festival line-up.
Run DMC It was used to headline a show titled “Bottom Of The Ninth…The Walk-Off”. Other headliners for the event include: Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, and ice cube Additional performers TI, Fat Joe, Common, A$AP Ferg, EPMD, Ghostface Killer, Lupe Fiascoand Slick Rick.
The ‘Queens Of Hip-Hop’ portion of the show features artists such as: Lil’ Kim, Eve, Remy Ma and Trina“Pillars Of Hip-Hop” features the following artists: cool hark and Cindy Campbellfamous for hosting the basement rec room party where hip-hop was born on August 11, 1973.
More performers will be announced at a later date, and ticket information is available on Ticketmaster. The first pre-sale begins Thursday (June 8) at 10am EST.
