It’s not like Blur vs. Oasis in the summer of 1995, but the war of words between the two Noel Gallagher And The 1975 frontman Matty Healy is definitely on the mend.
It all started back in February, when Healy brought up the topic of Oasis during an interview with Tom Power on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation radio program Q.
“What are you doing Oasis?” asked Healy. “Can you imagine being in potentially the coolest band in the world right now and not doing it because you’re in trouble? [mood] with your brother?
“I can deal with them who dress like they’re in their 20s, act like they’re in their 20s, even if they’re in their 50s. They need to grow up.”
Inevitably, Gallagher was later asked about Healy’s comments in an interview to promote his new album Council Skies. “Oh, that fucking loose-jawed fucking wit,” he told Spin. “What did he say?”
In response to Healy’s comments, Gallagher responded: [still being in the coolest band in the world]. He needs to get over how shit his band is and break up. ”
Well, Healy’s move paid off during last night’s show in Dublin.
“Noel Gallagher called me ‘a loose-jawed fucking wit.’ I love Noel Gallagher,” he told the crowd.
But of course, it was more than that. “The difference between me and Noel is that I do a series of interviews to promote the album, whereas he makes the album to promote a series of interviews.”
ah.
The good news is, at least on Healy’s part, this “beef” seems like a really good-natured person. He went on to repeat his love for Gallagher and pleaded again to “reunite Oasis.”
Of course, that would require Noel to settle a disagreement with his brother Liam. And judging by their latest altercation, they’re as big as ever.
