Offset had to “master who he was” before releasing his new solo album.
The 31-year-old rapper was a member of popular trap trio Migos before leaving the group early last year, while Quavo, 32, and the late Takeoff remained a two-piece until the latter’s tragic death. He was shot dead in Houston, Texas on November 1, 2022, at the age of 28.
In February of this year, Quavo released the music video for the tribute song “Greatness,” in which he acknowledged the end of Migos.
In a new cover interview for Variety, Offset opened up about his plans as a solo artist, including a 2019 sequel, Father of 4, but admitted he needed to look inside himself before sharing it with the world. Admitted.
he said: “Now I’m starting my solo career in earnest. My goal is to go all the way through it and screw up the game as a solo artist. I’m ready, next chapter. My turn.” is.”
Offset, who has four-year-old Culture and 20-month-old Wave with fellow rap star Cardi B, added:
“I really wanted to release an album like two years ago, but it just wasn’t the time. I had to master who I was, and now I get it.”
A spokeswoman for the Capitol told the magazine: I can’t wait for the world to hear his masterpiece.
“We are currently hard at work on our release plans and will have some big news coming soon.”
When asked about Takeoff, to whom Offset was like family, she was overwhelmed with grief and had to walk out of the interview that night.
Offset’s only way out is to fake his death.
