Savannah McConaughey started out in music like most four-year-old rap stars. frozen. Her father Reggie was impressed that she learned her songs so quickly. Soon, he started posting videos of her singing on TikToK.
“I was like, ‘Hey, this girl is amazing,'” the older McConaughey told NPR. morning paper.
His daughter raps on everything from playing with him to learning about it in school. “I like to rap about my ABC and 123,” Savannah said. “It makes me happy.”
Dozens of videos on TikTok and Instagram show Savannah, dubbed “therealvanvan” on social media, freestyle raps with the encouragement of her father. Some of the videos have received millions of views.
In “Playing Outside Everyday”, he dances to the beat while rapping the lyrics “My name is VanVan / Ain’t no time to play / Playing outside every day.” This is her most popular TikTok post with over 3 million views.
McConaughey said her daughter chooses the beats herself as backing tracks for her songs. As for her lyrics, McConaughey claims they are the work of Savannah herself, and is not ghostwritten by her father.
“She just came up with what she said,” he added. “Sometimes that pattern can confuse her, so I help her get her back on track.”
Savannah, who is getting used to her newfound fame, said she enjoys watching people’s reactions to her videos online. “People are dancing and singing along to it,” she said. “It makes me happy.”
Her father, who runs a TikTok account, often tags videos with race-sensitive hashtags like #brownskingirl and #blackgirlmagic.
“My daughter is a very beautiful woman and I want people to know how beautiful she is,” he said. “She is beautiful to me and to her mother. She is beautiful in her spirit.”
The McConaugheys say they are well aware of the pitfalls of rising to stardom at a young age and the struggles that can follow, so they don’t want to rush Savannah’s future career.

“We are the decision makers when it comes to things like that,” said Kenya, Savannah’s mother. “We want to make sure she stays innocent and make sure she’s her sweet little self.”
Savannah is currently working on a variety of projects. She just recorded a studio version of “Playing Outside Everyday,” and she plans to produce a music video soon.She also appears in the following movies Crossover: The revenge. But when asked what he’s most excited about this year, the young star had only one thing in mind.
“I can’t wait to be your big sister!” Savannah yelled.
