Life is short, so we must rejoice while we are in a hurry. The essence of youth is the here and now truth, and Trey Joshua captures that with his latest single, “Fine to Me.”

The 21-year-old Toronto artist came up with the song in an unconventional situation, and when he and his producer friend Ricky Tovey got together with friends at a camp in Muskoka, the creativity of him and his producer friend Ricky Tovey exploded. In the midst of debauchery, my friends built a shoulder-shaking summerbop.

“We were all drinking and partying and my producer Ricky and I were still awake after the guys had gone to bed,” Trey explained. “We were bored, so we decided to make music. At that moment, he put the beat down. The drums were blaring, the melody was swaying, and as soon as we heard it, this was the real thing.” I understand.”

It took the duo just 15 minutes to come up with this dance tune, and the original version was recorded in the cabin where they were staying. Trey and Ricky later show their friends what they made, and it became a staple for the rest of the trip. It taught Trey an important musical lesson.

“I wonder how something so easy and simple could make so much sense,” he said. “If anything, making this song made me realize that not everything in music has to be so calculated and precise. is not.”

“Fine To Me” will be Trey’s second release of 2023, following his single “Drunk” earlier this year. Its lyrics include themes of partying, love, and how they intertwine, with a stated goal of standing up.

“The post-song dance also played a big role in my strategy for how I promoted the song, because I fell in love with it more than anyone else. “I had a great time,” Trey said. “I was really happy that the songs I made affected people and I was able to be a part of their good times.”

This is the beginning of Trey’s attempt to build a long career in the music world. The artist started his musical journey in 2018 and was heavily influenced by his XXXTENTACION, JID, 6lack, The Tragally Hip, Bob Dylan, Billy Idol among others.

But his musical history goes back even before he was born. Trey’s parents met in 1994 at the Grateful Dead show in Vermont. Eight years later, they had a son and named him after Fish guitarist Trey Anastasio. Everything that brought Trey into this world oriented him towards one thing.

“It’s fair to say I was born to make music,” Trey explains in his Spotify artist profile. “I might even say that I believe I live for the sole purpose of creating it. Music rushes through my veins, entangles my heart, Destroy, dissect, dismantle, and yet it is my true love.”
