Blink-182 are in the middle of a massive comeback. But the daughter of the band’s esteemed drummer Travis Barker, Alabama’s career is just getting started. But instead of following in her famous father’s rock star footsteps, the internet personality has cut sharply into rap music. The debate about Nepo’s baby was corny, but a new snippet shared by the aspiring musician on TikTok may have given the debate new life.
In the 40-second clip, Alabama dropped a sample of what she had prepared, rapping an entire verse and part of the chorus from the next song.
Starting with the first verse, Alabama raps: “When we’re not together, when I’m with him, he knows I’m most genuine/Nothing against their feelings/But who hears everybody Talking motherfucker / I’m Alabama You know who I am I might spout you / I’m walking starring those 20 bitches Yeah, I’m cool / I’m so I know it smells good, it’s baccarat And Van Cleef perfume / Treat me like a mama / Dress me in designer clothes / Chill me like a boy, I’m wild / Know the kind of energy You should / Don’t treat me like 10 people / You better not treat your ex like your enemy when you message.”
Before the video ends, Alabama shares a few seconds of the song’s melodic chorus, chanting, “Get out when I’m calling/You know my body/When you get it Don’t switch/I know you understand me/I’m rapping ‘I’m here to ride a shot and be next to me/You’re crazy about me There is / he has an exotic wind.”
Several users made comparisons to other social media figures turned musicians, such as Matty B and the early Justin Bieber.
Another user commented, “It doesn’t feel right,” but Alabama replied, “It seems like it’s personal.”
Some accused Alabama of cultural appropriation. Some shared that her father, Travis Barker, has spoken publicly about her love of rap music. Barker has collaborated with several rappers including Lil Wayne, Trippie Redd, Paul Wall, The Game and Run The Jewels. This isn’t the first time Alabama has shared music online. In April she uploaded a teaser for her song “Diamond In The Rough.”
But it wasn’t all negative. A few users offered words of encouragement to teenagers. “She’s still young. This is her creative phase. I hope she has fun and is aware of her own boundaries and limitations,” one user posted.
To applaud deniers, the state of Alabama used a Nicki Minaj song clip to accuse users who claim to hate her but watch everything she does online. was photographed.
The state of Alabama has not revealed the song’s name or whether it will ever be released to the public. However, she has made it clear that she doesn’t plan to stop because she enjoys making music.
