Twitch has apologized to streamers after receiving a seven-day suspension from the Amazon-owned platform for rapping disparaging viewers who were “misogynist.”

The latest incident occurred on June 12th, when Twitch streamer “Nandor” was suspended for a week after the site deemed it harassment for freestyle rapping to viewers in chat. .

In a post on Twitter, Nandl quickly reported to the company after screenshotting an email from Twitch saying he had been banned for a week for harassing others.

“I got a one-week suspension for freestyle rapping about misogynistic rhetoric chatters who came to my stream,” he enraged. “This is unbelievably damaging to me right now. The streaming momentum is really real and he can’t afford to take a week off while streaming is at its peak.”

Nandre filed a complaint and compared her situation with a streamer who was banned for a week for having sex while streaming live, and got the response she expected from Twitch.

In a follow-up email, Twitch acknowledged it had made a “mistake” and reversed its decision, writing, “Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused.”
