The 2nd Annual Summer Music Concert Series by Nut Tree Plaza and Vaka Jazz Society is currently underway.
Each concert will run from June 3rd to July 8th at Knott’s Tree Plaza Breezeway. The six-week Knott’s Tree Plaza Summer Music Concert Series is free and open to the public and takes place every Saturday from 6-8pm.
Students from the School of Rock in Vacaville will perform on Saturdays.
Delbert Bump will perform with his Latin jazz group SAZIL on June 17th. The ensemble performs salsa and various styles of Brazilian music, along with other musical forms from the Caribbean.
On June 24th, Vacaville’s Live Music Center’s Jazz Combo takes to the stage. The Ricks are made up of music students and instructors who perform side by side.
On July 1st, Independence Day features an Alive Music Orchestra. A 22-piece jazz orchestra performs various styles of music. Rev. Frank Salamone of Dixon Cornerstone Church and singers Leah Walker, Brett Stout, Terry Stout, Art Stout and Julie Stout join talented local jazz musicians under the direction of Ken Stout. In charge of vocal work.
The final concert of the series will take place on July 8th and will be performed by the Jimmy Malone Band featuring Brett Alana. The band focuses on creating original music and combining traditional jazz with contemporary concepts.
