Courtesy of Diversity Arts Australia, “Cracking the Code” It was an International Women’s Day event you don’t want to miss. Hosted and hosted by award-winning writer, journalist and presenter Simone Amelia Jordan, this her two-hour virtual event was filled with lots of laughs, valuable key learnings, and many lively discussions. . Throughout the night, we heard from guest panelists at the event, recording artists Billy Murray and Naomi Wenington, and Complex Australia editor Rachel Evans. Three panelists were just as genuine and articulate as the next, generously giving us time to discuss hip-hop and her unique experience as a woman in R&B.

The casual, conversational atmosphere that Simone fostered meant that much of the event was spent exploring topics, making you feel all the emotions that participating in these spaces as a woman can give you. Those lucky enough to attend gained a deeper understanding of women’s varied and sometimes very similar experiences in hip-hop and R&B.
