NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WKRN) – The women of country music shined at Night 2 of CMA Fest at Nissan Stadium.
“I’m really, really happy to be here. Of course, I think I was here when it first started,” Tanya Tucker told the crowd at Nissan Stadium on CMA Fest Night 2.
Tucker was honored to open the second night concert at Nissan Stadium, and has graced the genre for decades.
Like a country queen with a career longer than the festival itself, Tucker is no stranger to the world’s longest running country music festival.
Tucker then took the stage with Rainie Wilson and Elle King.
Running the CMA Fest has been a childhood dream for the Wilsons. In her teens, she sat in stadium seats, where she now sings.
This year, the reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year kicked off the CMA’s 50th anniversary on the riverfront in front of a sold-out crowd. Staying true to her festival and fan hearts on Friday, Wilson hosted her first ever fan club party, the Bell Bottom Burn Dance.
“Well, let me tell you, this is unreal. This is like my first official fan party, so I’m so glad you guys are here,” she said earlier in the day. Speaking to the crowd at an invitation-only event at the Bell Tower.
Friday was also a full-circle moment for multi-platinum singer-songwriter Jelly Roll. Jelly Roll appeared on the main stage in her first ever unofficial CMAs, a decade after photobombing News2’s live shots covering the festival on the streets of downtown.
“I was thinking if I could go to every stage downtown and play only the Hard Rock stage or the Bridgestone stage. So it’s really crazy to be here with you right now, talking and actually doing interviews, this is it,” Jelly Roll gestured to News2’s Stephanie Langston. said while
Jelly Roll wowed the stadium with a pop-up stage, and fans went wild as Antioquian Jelly Roll sang ‘Son of a Sinner’.
Earlier that night, Reba McIntyre wowed a packed stadium with Cody Johnson on the main stage.
Avril Lavigne joins Miranda Lambert and Sk8er Boi.
Hardy rounded out the night with Keith Urban following Jelly Roll.
