During the pandemic, Trapper Shepp found himself listening to the song “Arthur McBride” by Paul Brady. That was his introduction to the world of Irish folk music. The new album of the essential trapper, siren song, It is heavily inspired by Irish folk traditions and themes, but does not benefit from them.
Schoepp recorded the album in the family cabin of Johnny Cash, another man who made folk music his own. In this session, the Wisconsin singer-songwriter siren songand he tells us how he perfected the Bob Dylan song that’s been sitting in his desk drawer for half a century.
