DJ Klyph Productions and McMenamins have announced an all-ages 7th anniversary concert to celebrate local hip-hop showcase Mic Check PDX on Sunday, August 20th at the Mission Theater.
“I wanted to do something special to celebrate this art form that means so much to me and create an event that brings the community together,” DJ Klyph said in a press release. “With the support of McMenamins and so many community partners, this is now a reality.”
The line-up for the event includes Homeboy Sandman, Vursatyl, Cool Nutz & DJ Fatboy, Boom Bap Project, Tia P, Mani Draper, Brookfield Duece, Bremer Baden, Alta Vorcez, Akira West, J Prodigy and DJ OGONE.
“Portland’s hip-hop scene is booming, and it’s special to bring artists from New York, The Bay and Los Angeles together to share the stage with artists from across the city, and to have an all-ages event. said DJ. Cliff said.
The concert will also mark the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, kick off Portland Hip-Hop Week 2023, and pay tribute to journalist Jenny Moore. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to support local nonprofit PDX Black Men’s Wellness.
Tickets are $20 to $25 and are available now on the Mission Theater website and miccheckpdx.com. Doors open at 5pm, show starts at 6pm.
