1. The sun is out and I’m listening to the new single “Caught Feelings” which has a soulful summer vibe. What inspired you to write this song?
This song was inspired by my ex-boyfriend. A while back, it just came out of nowhere and some really bad things happened first, but it was too late because I was already in love. That’s why the lyrics “The sun is shining, but it’s raining inside” sound so true. We tried our best and I forgive him, but I think our hearts are so precious and so delicate that we want to break them. It’s like breaking the perfect China Cup. You’ll never be perfect, but you can bring home the best part. Did you know that in Japan, dropping a cup, picking it up, and fixing it with gold is called kintsugi? I think it’s kind of beautiful. Maybe I should have done that in my relationship! ;-I
2. Tell us about the music video for “Caught Feelings”…
We went to my favorite place, Los Angeles, to shoot a music video with a very cool production company called New Frontera Pictures. We went for his 1950s old Hollywood style. That’s exactly what we did. I don’t want to reveal too much about the video, but all I can say is that it captures a beautiful love story in his 1950s style. It’s coming out this Friday and I’m very nervous but very happy and excited at the same time. I think it’s the most exciting music video I’ve ever made!!!!!!
3. You grew up singing songs by legendary artists like Frank Sinatra, Prince, and Otis Redding, what do you think are the key ingredients that make a timeless classic pop song?
We believe that catchy, memorable melodies are the foundation of timeless songs and powerful lyrics. The lyrics should be meaningful, authentic, and resonate with people of different generations, cultures, and backgrounds. As I said before, we all go through similar experiences in life, so it’s important that the song is relatable. This is why most of the songs are relatable because they are about love and the ups and downs of life. Adele and her songwriters are masters of these timeless songs that evoke strong emotions, and songs that make you feel something, be it happiness, sadness, or love, tend to stick in people’s memories. I also think that songs that are timeless and simple, both melody-wise and lyrically, are easy to remember and sing along to.
4. If you could have someone play you in a movie about your life, who would it be?
harry style. I just love Harry. He’s a great musician and I think he’s a really great actor. I think he plays me perfectly Harry if he’s reading this let’s write a song together!!
5. What do you think is the most difficult obstacle for artists to overcome today?
It’s probably the hardest thing to break through, especially if you’re not signed to a major label. But I would say to everyone, keep pushing anyway, keep pushing the song until something is over and it will eventually be. It doesn’t matter if it’s not in the UK or anywhere else. The world is big, so there is space for anyone who wants to do it. Also, I think you need patience. You can work for 10 years or more to achieve great success, but that usually ends. The days of overnight success are long gone unless you want to do a reality show. Don’t give up, be patient, and keep pushing.
6. What is your relationship with social media – love it or hate it?
i love social media. By doing so, I think you can get a message of music, love, and inspiration. Even if you write a song, it’s probably for people you know and maybe a few listeners. But now the whole world can listen to it, so I love social media. But I love only the real side of it. Not a filtered fake. It’s fake how great my life is. That’s what makes children worry that they’ll never do it, or that they’re not good enough. So I think we need some kind of regulation to keep people from targeting things that aren’t even real in the first place, based on social media fakes.
7. If you had to choose one album to listen to on a deserted island for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Wow, it’s hard, but I’d choose Prince’s album Purple Rain. Really great. i love that record
8. Where do you get your inspiration when writing songs? And what do you think are the best lyrics you’ve ever written?
Most of the inspiration from my songs come from actual real life situations when you are happy in love and sad in love. As human beings, I think we all go through similar situations, so I usually write about my situation, but when I write, I think about it as it can happen to you, to me, to anyone. to be able to empathize with I always want my albums to be a little bit more self-help, so that when the listener feels a little sad, they put my record on and they feel good again by the time the album ends. I think I was thinking.
I think the best lyrics I’ve ever written is the chorus of the new song “Caught Feelings”
grabbed my feelings
strange weather
Shining but it’s raining inside
was i dreaming
Better keep it all together
Buckle up and go for a drive
9. What would you say is your greatest achievement, personally or professionally?
My biggest personal achievement, probably not many people know, used to weigh 20 stone. I lost 8 stones and held it down. I did it for my overall health, but at the same time, I wanted to find a specific way for my business that would allow me to be healthy enough to travel and tour. When I got into the music industry, I got a lot of comments about my size when I auditioned, so I knew that size wouldn’t work, so I decided to do something about it, and I haven’t seen one since. i’m back!
10. Do you have any upcoming shows?
Not at this time, but there may be a tour towards the end of the year. We are currently in the process of releasing great music and completing an album. But there will certainly be some shows. Please come and join us! XX.
