Loves Park’s CD Source welcomes back music lovers at new location after fire

LOVES PARK, Illinois (WTVO) — The music-lover hotspot on the border line welcomed visitors again on Monday.

CD source Not far from the old location, but re-opened in a new location. In fact, it’s across the street.

Employees said they were overwhelmed and grateful for the support of the local community.

“In a music store, you have a very emotional connection with your customers, they are all your friends,” says CD Source employee Joshua Dunbar. “I feel like I lost a friend.”

The reopening of CD Source on Monday was an emotional one for everyone, from the people who work there to our loyal customers.

“A lot of people I know come back from the store,” Dunbar said. “So many people showered and hugged me and told me how much they missed me.”

An electrical fire in September destroyed the store and everything inside. Owner Brian Bowman was hesitant to reopen, but after seeing the reaction on social media, he knew he had to.

“It’s been crazy busy,” Dunbar said. “The community has been very supportive here and has donated a lot. Without our customers, we are nothing.”

As soon as the store opened, customers gathered to deliver donations and greet the staff.

“People walk by here, but it’s perfect to be in the same spot because it’s not 50 feet away from where it used to be,” Dunbar said.

The building was an old cleaning business, so it took a lot of work to transform the space.

“When I saw the building, I thought it would be smaller. It’s definitely smaller, but once you’re inside, it feels a lot bigger inside than it looks on the outside,” says Dunbar. said Mr. “This place was a disaster.

CD Source is located at 5704 N 2nd St. We will resume normal business hours from 10am to 7pm.
