Alongside TraviS X Elzzz, Celaviedmai and Reggie B, DJ Jesse has become a formidable force on the Irish scene thanks to his own stunning sets and his work as official DJ for Drogheda drill icons Offica. I’m here.
“His management team heard me DJing at a few places,” Jesse said of his first partnership with Offica. “They were like, ‘This guy is actually sick. I need to get him to cheer the crowd up before Offika comes on and make the whole experience even better.'” I’ve been on , so I know what I’m doing around the deck!”
The Irish DJ witnessed the phenomenal rise of Irish drill and how it made its mark on the world stage.
“I felt it was only a matter of time, but I was still a little surprised,” he says of the rap subgenre’s explosion of popularity on this coast. “But I feel like there is still more to come. This is just the beginning.
He’s already been a part of some milestone moments in the training scene here through his work with Offica.
“Being able to DJ with Offica at Longitude was huge,” he recalls. “And not just for me, but for all of us, it was surreal to be on the main stage.”
He’s had some unforgettable career highlights himself, from a major gig in the UK to DJing at Burna Boy’s epic 3 Arena show in December.
“Sometimes I forget it happened!” he says of Burnaboy gigs. “It’s like, ‘Wow, that actually happened. I was there and I was DJing for him…'”
With the monster session just days away, DJ Jessie tells fans that he can expect “a lot of hip-hop” in his highly anticipated set.
“But it also depends on the mood of the audience, so I will read it,” he added. “I know TraviS X Elzzz will be performing, so the audience will be in a more rapping and drilling atmosphere!”
