TULSA, Oklahoma — The long-running art and frame store in Tulsa celebrated its 50th anniversary at a music festival on Saturday.

While Ziegler Art & Frame was celebrating its 50th anniversary, the Amps on Admiral music festival was held inside and outside stores near Admiral and Lewis.

The weather forced the event to be held inside Ziegler’s, but Kendall Whittier Main Street executive director Jessica Jackson Seey said people still showed up.

“It rained, but it’s still a great event. I’m really glad people came,” she said.

The event featured performances by local bands Township & Range, Free Association, Brujo Roots, Kathy Stephens and The Midnight Sun.

“Clouds always scare people, so it’s nice to have people coming to support local musicians,” said Shii.

Regarding Ziegler’s 50th anniversary, one of Ziegler’s owners, Trent Morrow, said he was proud to continue the tradition.

“This was started by my grandfather and I’m the third generation, but I’m very happy to take over the torch and keep the Tulsa facility and Kendall Whittier’s stable,” he said.

Morrow also said a music festival was a natural fit for Kendall Whittier’s business.

“We are an arts district. We love art and music is a big part of that. I love doing species events,” he said.
